This 1979 International Harvester Scout II was built on May 11, 1979 and originally delivered to Arrow Pontiac in Little Falls, New Jersey. It is powered by a 304ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a removable hardtop, a roof rack, rear sliding windows, plaid fabric bucket seats, aftermarket 15″ wheels, a Pioneer head unit, and air conditioning.
The truck was reportedly repainted under previous ownership and features gray side graphics. Equipment includes a removable body-colored hardtop with sliding rear windows and a roof rack, a chrome front bumper, side moldings, a split rear tailgate, and a painted rear step bumper with an integrated receiver hitch. The headlights and wiper blades were replaced in November 2019.
Polished aftermarket 15” wheels feature manually-locking front hubs and are mounted with 30×9.5” BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires that are said to have been recently installed. The front brake rotors and pads were replaced in March 2020 and the brake master cylinder, brake hoses, and rear wheel cylinders were replaced in July 2019. The leaf springs were replaced under previous ownership, though the removed set are included in the sale along with the factory wheels.
The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seats upholstered in brown vinyl with plaid fabric centers along with matching door panels. The air conditioning system was overhauled with a replacement compressor and receiver/drier and converted to R134a refrigerant in November 2019 by Jackson Auto Works in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Rubber International Harvester-branded mats line the footwells, and a Pioneer head unit has been added to the dash, though the removed factory radio is included.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 100-mph horizontal speedometer and gauges indicating engine temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles.
The 304ci V8 is fitted with an aftermarket carburetor, and service completed under current ownership includes replacement of the oil pan gasket, the rear main seal, the ignition module, and the alternator belt. An oil change was performed in August 2021.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
